1200μL newer models require glass cylinder. Older models use stainless steel cylinders.
On most occasions, replacing the piston is not necessary unless damaged during service. The most important parts for 1200ul pipettes is the lubricant, o-rings, and glass cylinders which tend to break if the technician is not careful during disassembly and reassembly.
